| • Teachers should transmit such meaningful experiences unto their wards, which will enable them expand their knowledge and their expertise useful through life.
• Approach the subject that you are teaching, from many sides. I call this as the provision of entrances to any subject.
• Schools focus on writing, reading and counting. But I am against a wooden approach to teaching children dryly, as if taking PT drill. Children can master these things by asking questions and, in general, through joyful learning.
• I think that students should concentrate on a few important matters; dive deep in to them and understand them well for themselves.
• If you want to learn about the working of this world,
and
then begin with the concepts of truth, sanctity and beauty built in your culture.
• Children have no preconceived notions or ideas following a rut. To my mind, this makes it easier to sow the seeds of truth, purity and beauty in their hearts.
• We should give them the opportunities to express the things they have actually experienced and understood; and the things we believe that children should understand should be value-based.
• I will give preference to such exhibitions and projects, through which they can express what they have truly learnt, for their evaluation. Tests should not consist of brief answers, making choices from given options etc. Students’ knowledge and their competence should be evaluated on the criteria, which are actually valued by society.
