Fundamental Principles of our Education Practices

Recent developments in the cognitive science and following to that the Constructivist Approach to Education is the basis for Grammangal's educational work.

Following are the fundamentals that have shaped our education methods.

Brain-based Education

It has been established that multiple, complex, and concrete experiences are essential for meaningful learning and teaching. (Reference: Caine & Caine, 1994).

Developmentally Appropriate Practices

Children learn better and quicker when their learning is conducive to the stage of their brain development. There is a certain appropriate age range for everything. An education system that utilizes this knowledge to present the right learning opportunities at the right time not only makes it easy for the child to learn, but also enhances learning.

Multiple Intelligences

The theory of Multiple Intelligence states that there are a number of distinct forms of intelligence that each individual possesses in varying degrees. We believe that it is a key to develop the whole educational process. According to Howard Gardner, the originator of this breakthrough concept, school systems often focus on a narrow range of intelligence - verbal / linguistic intelligence, and logical/ mathematical intelligence. But there are other intelligences that are as important for a fuller human development. At Gram-Mangal, we are working hard to identify and develop these multiple intelligences in our children.

Value-Based Education

Healthy and peaceful social life is possible if it is based on values such as Swatantrya (Freedom), Vivek (Rationality), Samata (Equality), Sahakar (Co-operation), Shramanand (the Joy of Labor) and Saundarya (Aesthetics).
